* Joe Biden has tapped Lisa Franchetti to be the next head of the U.S. Navy – against the recommendation of the Pentagon.
* Franchetti’s “qualifications,” according to an AP story, include “her experience at sea and ashore” and “a number of high-level policy and administrative jobs.”
* Glaringly missing from her resume: Combat experience. Lovely.
* Of course, Biden overruled the Pentagon and nominated her because…she’s a woman. Affirmative action in action.
* Nevada Back Down PAC, supporting Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ presidential campaign, announced this morning a list of GOP endorsements from Nevada. They include…

* Interesting mix of both conservatives and moderates.
* Heather Pate lured Roy Jaggers into her Las Vegas apartment where her boyfriend, Kevin Dent, and ex-boyfriend, Brad Mehn, kidnapped him, took him out into the desert, tortured him for hours, forced him to walk off a cliff and then shot him repeatedly with a shotgun.
* Yesterday, Pate got 15 years with the possibility of parole while Dent got 10 years with the possibility of parole. Meanwhile, Mr. Jaggers’ death sentence at the hands of Pate and Dent remains permanent.
* Justice?
* According to former Nevada Ethics Commission Chairman Mark Hutchison, the largest fine ever imposed by the commission is $15,000.
* The current Ethics Commission executive director, Ross Armstrong, is a former head of Child and Family Services. He was forced out after the Department of Justice and the media investigated reports on how the CFS treated mentally ill children and the use of chemicals like pepper spray.
* Armstrong has called for Nevada Gov. Lombardo to be fined a whopping $1.67 million for wearing his police uniform, while he was Clark County sheriff, in campaign advertising for his run for governor.
* The weaponization of law enforcement in politics has come to Nevada. A hearing on the complaint is scheduled for this week.
* Poor Sigal Chattah. She can dish it out, but she sure can’t take it.
* After I posted a photo of the Nevada Republican National Committeewoman all alone at the bar at the Clark County GOP meeting Tuesday night, she got her knickers in a knot and tweeted…
“I wonder if his wife knows he writes about me every day and secretly takes pictures of me in public. Married and obsessed psychopath.”
* Pretty sure of all the women my wife might be worried about, Siggy definitely isn’t one of them.
