Muth's Truths PLUS+

08/13/2023

* My wife and I honeymooned in Lahaina, HI almost 30 years ago. Painful to see the fire devastation.

* More painful to hear schmucks like the state’s governor use the tragedy to advance their political agenda about global warming while ashen bodies are still being recovered.

* These cultists are sick bastards.

* A viral video made its way around social media this week showing an altercation between a Metro police officer and an illegal street food vendor, Carlos Hernandez Perez.

* Perez – who’d been warned about selling without a license the day before - refused to follow the officers commands to skedaddle. “License? I don’t need no stinkin’ license!”

* Democrat Nevada State Sen. Fabian Donate - who sponsored a bill legalizing street food vendors that hasn’t kicked in yet – said he intended to work with county and state officials “to roll out new changes and regulations for street vendors to fully operate legally.”

* Now here’s the kicker: Turns out the illegal street vendor is in the country illegally!

* After being released from jail for resisting arrest and “(pushing) the officer to the ground as he was attempting to detain him,” the illegal alien/illegal food vendor was picked up by ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) and is back in custody.

* If deported, he’s going to have to go all the way back to Mexico and enter the United States illegally again at Joe Biden’s open border. What an inconvenience!

* Uh-oh. Now I done did it…

* Seems I’ve gotten under the thin skin of Democrat Assembly Speaker Steve “Donut Boy” Yeager over his refusal on Wednesday to approve Republican Gov. Joe Lombardo’s proposal to use unspent COVID funds to restore Democrat cuts to the state’s Opportunity Scholarship program.

* In a butt-hurt X-tweet yesterday in response to my criticism, Donut Boy wrote…

“How much is the Lombardo campaign paying you to say nice things about him on social media? You used to be on the same side as Victor Joecks, Sigal Chattah and Michael McDonald, but now you appear to be a RINO. That money must be nice.”

* Um, no. Lombardo isn’t paying me to say nice things about him. Doesn’t have to. I support his fight to give low-income, mostly minority children privately-funded scholarships they can use to escape failure factory government schools.

* THAT’S the conservative position.

* It’s Joecks and Chattah who have gone off the reservation in giving aid-and-comfort to Donut Boy and his accomplices. For his part, and unlike those two, Nevada GOP Chairman McDonald has supported the governor’s efforts.

* To the extent I can be called a “RINO” (Republican in Name Only), it’s because I am, and always have been, a conservative first and Republican distant second. No apologies.

* My posted response to Wee Man’s drivel…

“Uh-oh, sounds like somebody got their widdle feelings hurt. You better hope Republicans don’t find a viable candidate against you, Donut Boy. ‘Cause I’ll pro bono my services to take you out after what you did to these kids. Winter’s coming.”

* Game on.

* Columnist Michael Schaus noted today that the Colorado GOP is flirting with the idea of changing its candidate nominating process in a way “that would shut out not only independents, but also the majority of Republican voters as well.”

* He added…

“If such an institutional failure from team red sounds familiar, it’s probably because the Nevada GOP isn’t too far behind it - doing such self-defeating things as electing a Republican firebrand (Sigal Chattah) - who lost her statewide race by a larger margin than any other statewide GOP candidate in 2022 - to the role of national committeewoman.”

* In that vein, the Associated Press reported this morning…

“Republicans in Nevada could have two chances next year to decide who they want to be their party’s presidential nominee. The catch: Only one will count. … The results in the GOP primary are unlikely to matter because the state Republican Party has said it will use its party-run caucus to determine which candidate will receive the state’s delegates to the Republican National Convention.”

* Can’t fix stupid.
