Muth's Truths PLUS+

08/14/2023

* The Nevada Republican presidential primary election will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 2024.

* Today, the Nevada GOP announced that it will be holding its competing “caucus” election – where convention delegates will actually be selected – on Thursday, February 8, 2024.

* Hmm. What happens if, say, DeSantis wins the primary election on Tuesday but Trump wins the caucus election on Thursday? Nah, no chance for confusion, anger, or a PR black eye here.

* Stupid is as stupid does.

* I’m with Donald Trump over the government’s weaponization of law enforcement in its ongoing persecution of the former president and current candidate. It’s outrageous.

* In fact, it was reported earlier today that the prosecutor in Georgia posted the charges against Trump on a website BEFORE the grand jury even finished its work and voted on them.

* However…

* I’m offended by Trump’s claim over the weekend that “only a vote for Trump” will stop this abuse and that “a vote for anyone else” in the GOP primary “is complicit.” To the best of my knowledge, every one of Trump’s primary opponents has voiced objections to how he’s being treated.

* In fact, DeSantis just declared over the weekend in Iowa that “As President, I will stop the weaponization of our federal government once and for all, and I will fire (FBI director) Wray.”

* You can be against what’s being done to Trump and still support one of his opponents without being “complicit” in what Biden’s DOJ is doing to him. This issue is bigger than Trump himself.

* I fear political Armageddon coming. If Trump’s not the GOP nominee, many Trump supporters won’t vote in the general election. If Trump is the GOP nominee, many anti-Trump independents aren’t going to vote for him.

* Either way, it could well mean another four years with Biden/Kamala in the White House.

* This is why it’s so troubling that Trump has so far refused to sign the pledge promising to back whoever the eventual GOP nominee is. People better start waking up to this danger.

* Democrats are attacking AAA Scholarship Foundation – the largest Scholarship Grant Organization (SGO) for Opportunity Scholarships in Nevada – for being an “out of state organization” despite the organization having an office in Nevada.

* Democrats are world-class hypocrites who will grasp at any straw, no matter how thin, to keep low-income minority students trapped inside failure factory public schools.

* These same Democrats voted for a $110.5 million “Christmas tree” bill back in June, doling out tax dollars to a wide variety of non-profit organizations, including…

  • Teach for America (HQ in New York)
  • United Way (HQ in Virginia)
  • Goodwill (HQ in Maryland)
  • Boys & Girls Clubs (HQ in Georgia)
  • Boys Town (HQ in Nebraska)
  • Special Olympics (HQ in Washington, DC)
  • U.S. Vets (HQ in California)

* So we’re supposed to screw the kids getting Opportunity Scholarships because one of the non-profits administering the program has a national headquarters in a different state even
though plenty of other non-profits getting tax dollars are also HQ’ed out-of-state?

* The Indiana GOP is taking winning seriously. For the first time, the party has endorsed a candidate, Rep. Jim Banks, in a U.S. Senate primary. That’s providing the leadership that rank-and-file Republican voters who aren’t involved in politics on a daily basis need and deserve.

* The Nevada GOP needs to get serious and do pre-primary endorsements, as well. But not the way it’s tried to do them in the past…in a smoke-filled back-room star chamber.

* The process should be open to any eligible candidate and decided by Central Committee members without “screening” by a candidate review committee.

* Provide all candidates with the mailing address of every Central Committee member – which they have to provide to be registered to vote; a requirement to be a member of the committee
- so the candidates can campaign directly with them.

* And their communications should not be filtered and censored by party leaders.
