* Added Rep. Tom Massie: “If Biden shoots down the balloon, it will be the first thing he’s ever done to combat inflation.”
* Tara Bull reports that “Joe and Jill Biden's income as of 2016 was $396,456. As of 2019, it was $16,596,979. An increase of $16,200,573. When will they have to provide their tax returns?”
Good question.
* Earlier this week, Donald Trump called Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis a “RINO” (Republican in Name Only). When everybody’s a RINO, nobody’s a RINO.
* In response to Trump’s attack, conservative icon Richard Viguerie wrote…
“Trump's attacks on @GovRonDeSantis are hurting him more than they are hurting DeSantis. He can win a GOP primary with his base, but someone needs to explain to him he can't win back the White House by alienating the 25 - 30 percent of GOP voters who already prefer DeSantis to
him.”
* A number of polls that came out this week show Don and Ron essentially tied, with DeSantis holding slight leads, in an anticipated GOP presidential contest next year. Buckle up.
* FOX News reported this week that a Trump PAC “paid at least $132,000 to Melania Trump's former hairdresser in 2022, dubbing the expenditure as payment for ‘strategy consulting.’” That puts former Democrat presidential candidate John Edwards’ $1,250 haircuts to shame.
* Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) has introduced a bill “which bans the federal government from directing any funds toward the development of a system to track drivers and assess a tax for every mile driven.” Nice to have Republicans back in charge of the House.
* House Republicans actually kicked anti-American Rep. Ilhan Omar off the Foreign Affairs Committee. AOC and Rashib Talib threw veritable hissyfits. The histrionics were Academy Award-level performances. Sweet.
* In a vote to condemn the “horrors of socialism” this week in the House, 109 Democrats voted against the measure. Let that sink in.
* In a separate vote, only three House Democrats voted to force federal workers to return to their offices and do their jobs since the COVID “emergency” has long been over.
* Brigitte Gabriel of ACT for America reports that “Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell pulled Rick Scott and Mike Lee off the important Commerce Committee as retaliation” for earlier supporting a leadership change in the Senate caucus. What a petty, little tyrant.
* FOX News reports that “New Mexico lawmakers propose bill to chemically castrate pedophiles as parole condition.” Which Nevada legislator will introduce a similar bill?
* After Gov. Lombardo’s State of the State address, reporter David Charns asked him what he was most looking forward to over the next four years. Our governor’s candid response: “Getting sh*t done.”
* Amen.
* A poll this week by News 3 in Las Vegas shows 84% of over 2,400 respondents in favor of Gov. Lombardo’s call for voter ID. Assemblyman Greg Hafen (R) is introducing a bill to that effect.
* Out of more than 1.8 million ballots mailed out to Nevadans last election, only 530,000 were mailed back. That means, as the Las Vegas Review-Journal pointed out in an editorial:
“You don’t have to claim there’s widespread fraud to point out that one million ballots floating around isn’t a best case for election security."
* Not ready go announce publicly yet, but we’re almost ready to launch a new “Pigpen Project” to clean up our dirty voting rolls. Inner Circle members heard it here first.
* Just to give you a small example of the anomalies we’ll be investigating, over 50,000 active Nevada voters were removed and put on the “inactive” list earlier this week. However, almost 3,000 of them voted in the November general election and almost all of them were in Washoe County.
* If they just voted less than three months ago, why were they moved to “inactive” status? There’s probably a logical explanation, but it’s time for our side to start asking questions when stuff like this pops up. And, NO, that doesn’t make us “election deniers.”
* BTW, after the “purge,” the Democrats’ registration advantage in Nevada has shrunk to a little over 45,000 out of over 1.8 million. We’re not a red state and we’re not a blue state. Pure purple.
* ICYMI: Citizen Outreach’s 2023 Rising Star award recipient Brittany Sheehan has been hired by our Breitbart Award recipient, Megan Barth, to write for the Nevada Globe. Carson City better buckle up. These conservative gals don’t mess around!
* With the 2023 legislative session starting on Monday, the Nevada Policy Research Institute has launched a “bill tracker” so Nevadans can follow proposed legislation of interest to
conservatives. Click here.
* Follow-up: In response to my suggestion that Republicans recruit Drew Johnson – who ran unsuccessfully for Clark County Commission last year - to run for Assembly District 9 against
Democrat Speaker Steve Yeager, Drew advises that he has no intention of running
for a legislative seat in 2024. Disappointing.
* Save the Date: April 15. A special “Death & Taxes” dinner at the Italian-American Club. Details coming soon…
FAMOUS LAST WORDS
“Hard times create strong men. Strong men create good times. Good times create weak
men. And, weak men create hard times. For the clueless: Biden is not a strong
man.” – Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO)
