* Big election day tomorrow in Virginia (legislature), Kentucky (governor), and elsewhere - including a huge ballot question in Ohio. Here’s what’s at stake from Paul Teller of Advancing American Freedom…
“We at AAF urgently remind you that, if the Ohio ‘Issue 1’ referendum passes tomorrow, that would be the first state-level move away from the status quo on abortion since the overturning of Roe v. Wade. Previous state-level referendum losses have left things at the status quo in those states. If the cause of life loses in Ohio, that would be the first move AWAY from the status quo since Dobbs and enshrine Roe v. Wade policies (and more) into the Ohio Constitution.”
* Nevada GOP candidates better be watching the Ohio result on Issue 1. It’s bound to affect their races next year.
* The Trump campaign has come unglued over the imminent endorsement of Ron DeSantis by Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds. Rick Grennell, one of Trump’s top advisers, actually tweeted today…
“@WakaFlocka has 1.8 million followers. Kim has 72k.”
* I’ve never heard of “WakaFlocka,” but I guess he’s endorsed Trump. So I checked out his twitter feed and found this sample of his political genius from a couple days ago…
“shit eat me up inside that i can’t flip a switch and boom the whole world happy again 🥹🙏🏾🙌🏾 i miss world peace.”
* On the other hand, I remember Gov. Reynolds’ boffo performance (click here) delivering the Republican response to Joe Biden’s State of the Union address last year.
* And Grennell thinks Mr. WakaFlocka will have a much bigger impact on the Iowa Caucus than the popular, sitting, conservative governor of the state? What the heck is HE smoking?
* All of which begs the question: If Trump is so far ahead and his nomination is inevitable, why have a cow over Reynolds endorsing DeSantis?
* Gov. Joe Lombardo has announced another legislative endorsement: Lisa Cole for Assembly District 4 (Clark).
* AD4 is currently being represented by conservative Republican Assemblyman Richard McArthur, who is termed-out.
* Here’s something that popped out at me when reading her bio: She’s a small businesswoman “focusing on land and utility development.” That includes being “an integral part of virtually every aspect of the 10,000+ acre Apex Industrial Park in Southern Nevada.”
* I remember when former North Las Vegas Mayor John Lee first suggested building that industrial park out at Apex, a few miles north of Nellis Air Force Base. Everyone said it was impossible and would never work.
* They were wrong. John got it done (and is now running for Congress with Gov. Lombardo’s endorsement). And Lisa was apparently a big part of its success, including all the jobs that have been created and the revenue it’s generated.
* That alone should be reason enough to want to learn more about Lisa and her campaign. . Click here to pull up her website.
* A couple of the Nevada GOP’s lemmings who have drunk the “chaos caucus” Kool-Aid have been urging me to embrace the caucus now that it’s a reality and promote it rather than criticize it.
* Fat chance.
* That’s like asking the pro-life community to just accept and promote abortion once Roe v. Wade became a reality. Instead, pro-life supporters fought for 50 years to reverse that decision.
* This whole caucus scheme isn’t just stupid, it’s political suicide. And some think I should now help PROMOTE it? Good luck with that. Instead…
* The Las Vegas Raiders stunk on ice under the coaching of Josh McDaniels. They consistently lost games they could have and should have won.
* A week ago, McDaniels was fired. And on Sunday, the Raiders, under a new coach, blew out their opponent for a big win.
* For the last three election cycles, the Nevada GOP has lost races it could have and should have won under Chairman Michael McDonald and are poised to “enjoy” another losing season.
* The party isn’t focusing on get-out-the-vote. It’s not focusing on candidate training. It’s not focusing on effective messaging to non-partisan voters. It’s not focusing on cleaning up the voter rolls. It’s not focusing on ballot harvesting. It’s not focusing on getting Republican voters to vote early or by mail.
* It’s focusing on this totally useless and unnecessary presidential “caucus” (they could still allot delegates at their state convention in the spring even with the primary) that will only confuse, anger, and disenfranchise GOP voters, many of whom will once again stay home next November, thus again costing the party races it could have and should have won.
* What should be done? Hey, I’ve got an idea. If it worked for the Raiders with McDaniels…
