* The Las Vegas Super Bowl was just…super.
* Most viewed telecast in history. Record-breaking bets on the game. Close to $1 billion in revenue generated. Smooth processing at the airport in the 24 hours after the game.
* All leading former NFL great Rob Gronkowski to say: “I think Vegas should host it (the Super Bowl) every year. They can handle it. The energy is just electric. Just an unbelievable time.”
* Agreed.
* After the smashing success of Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas on Sunday, I shared a behind-the-scenes look look at how conservative Republican Assemblywoman Jill Dickman’s lone vote in favor of the bill approving the stadium funding package made it happen.
* And how one of her GOP colleagues, then-Assemblyman Ira Hansen, helped take her out at the ballot box over that vote three weeks later.
* I guess I should have noted that three other Assembly Republicans also voted to stop Allegiant Stadium from being built, along with Hansen…
* Then-Assemblywoman Robin Titus (now State Senate Minority Leader), then-Assemblyman James Oscarson (defeated in primary by Dennis Hof in 2018), and former Assemblywoman Shelly Shelton (defeated in 2016 general election).
* Thank goodness Assemblywoman Dickman was in office at the time!
* If, as Democrats say, it's a "woman's right to choose," does that mean they support a woman's right to have a late-term abortion right up to the time of birth?
* Also, if Democrats say it’s a “woman’s right to choose” what they do with their bodies, then why do those same Democrats oppose legalizing prostitution and support forced COVID vaccinations?
* And why doesn't the media press them on this? Oh, wait...yeah. I forgot.
* It’s Election Day (again). Special election to replace disgraced former Congressman George Santos. Big D district, but snowstorm could impact turnout.
* GOP sure could use a major upset to boost its number in the House by one additional vote. Remember, the vote to impeach Homeland Security boss Mayorkas recently lost by…one vote.
* It was announced yesterday that Donald Trump is backing his daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, for the position of National Co-Chair of the Republican National Committee (RNC), and one of his top campaign advisers, Chris LaCivita, as the organization’s chief operating officer.
* This effort to make the RNC a Trump campaign subsidiary isn’t sitting well with some of the 168 members on the committee, but Trump will likely get his way.
* The National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) has thrown its lot in with Kari Lake for the U.S. Senate seat in Arizona, giving the conservative firebrand the backing of the GOP’s “establishment.”
* She’s gonna need it. The lefties have the long knives out for her. But this is a flippable seat. Glad to see all oars rowing in the same direction.
* Rafael Arroyo is one of the more promising GOP legislative candidates to come along. He’s taking on a tough challenge to the Assembly Majority Leader, Sandra Jauregui, and has the endorsement of Gov. Joe Lombardo.
* Rafel owns a smog-testing and DMV services business and has been active as a citizen lobbyist in Carson City for his industry. So he knows the drill.
* He also lost one of his smog-testing locations recently when some homeless, possibly drug-addicted, person(s) decided it was too cold outside, broke into his mobile office van, and tried to start a fire to keep warm.

* On the positive side, though, he just had another baby boy last month!
* Rafael’s gonna have to run an almost flawless campaign and have a few things break his way – but if they do, we could see a major upset in November. Nevada would be FAR better off with him in Carson City.
* And finally…
* Oh, joy! I officially signed up for Medicare today. Turn eligibility age on April 5th. Time sure has flown. I remember as a teen thinking 40 was old! If I’d only known then…
FAMOUS LAST WORDS
“At Lexington and Concord on the 19th of April in 1775, Capt. John Parker and Capt. David Brown each commanded a small group of American patriots to oppose 700 British Regular troops. However, over 90 percent (3,000+) of the patriots that fought that day were without a military leader. Each grabbed a musket and ran to the sound of the guns. Today, instead of grabbing a musket, conservative leaders should be modern-day Paul Reveres, educating all within the sound/reach of your voice.” – Conservative movement’s “Funding Father,” Richard Viguerie
