* Every American regardless of political stripe should be demanding that the transcript of Joe Biden’s testimony before Special Prosecutor Robert Hur in the classified documents case be released to the public so we can all see for ourselves if our president is essentially a stumbling vegetable.
* Repeat after me on social media: Release the Transcript!
* Speaking of Biden, he whined yesterday that the House GOP’s vote to impeach Homeland Security boss Alejandro Mayorkas was nothing more than playing “petty political games.”
* Let’s review…
* Mayorkas was impeached for refusing to shut down our southern border and allowing an invasion of millions of unvetted, illegal aliens which is costing Americans millions of dollars and opening the potential for a major terrorist attack on our citizens.
* Democrats impeached Donald Trump for making a phone call.
* So tell me again which team is playing “petty political games”?
* Speaking of Trump, he’s proposed that his daughter-in-law, Lara, be the next RNC co-chair. Some might call it nepotism.
* If elected to the post, Lara told reporters yesterday, she would make sure that “every single penny” raised by the RNC would go to re-electing her father-in-law. The rest of you GOP candidates can eat cake.
* Trump possesses many virtues. Playing party politics isn’t one of them. After all, he gave us current RNC chair Ronna McDaniel.
* The problem here is that Trump wants to replace all the establishment swamp creatures with his own family-and-friends swamp creatures – including at the state party level. That’s not what conservatives signed up for.
* This headline in today’s Jewish Insider certainly isn’t helpful to this Nevada U.S. Senate candidate…
“Nevada Senate candidate Jim Marchant repeatedly invoked antisemitic tropes in public statements: Marchant claimed that an evil ‘cabal’ founded by ‘Khazarians’ and ‘globalists have controlled the government to oppress the American people and the world for centuries.”
* Why is Marchant even still in this race? Either ego - or his consultant won’t let him drop out for fear of losing the meal ticket.
* Too often, Republicans and GOP candidates *talk* about wasteful, non-essential spending in the budget without giving specific examples of what should be cut.
* Well, Republican State Treasurer Andy Matthews, along with Republican Gov. Joe Lombardo, announced yesterday that they’ve put Nevada’s “checkbook” online so any taxpayer can see where their money is going and if it’s being spent wisely.
* I’ll start: $1.35 million for the Commission on Tourism to publish “Nevada Magazine.”
* Essential? Hardly. Especially considering the gazillions Nevada gaming resorts already spend promoting Nevada. Borrowing an old trope from the left, “How many textbooks for students would that $1.35 million buy?”
* You can dial up the site and look for your own pork-barrel spending at: https://checkbook.nv.gov. If you find anything good, shoot it my way.
* It’s been a week now since members of the Assembly Republican Caucus (ARC) *supposedly* came to an agreement on pre-primary endorsements of Assembly candidates.
* That includes endorsing candidates who have already been recruited, vetted, funded, and trained by the governor’s political operation. Yet the caucus STILL has yet to make its first official endorsement.
* Filing opens in less than three weeks. The official caucus endorsement could help dissuade some GOP primary challengers in competitive races so as not to waste money that could be better used in the general election.
* But it appears the ARC is dragging its feet and twiddling its thumbs, probably so as not to be seen as just rubber-stamping the governor’s decisions.
* This is foolish. The governor has assembled a team of experienced, professional campaign people. And they have spent months evaluating and supporting various legislative candidates – a process that is ongoing.
* The idea that this political "Gang that Couldn’t Shoot Straight" has the background and experience to vet candidates better than Team Lombardo is laughable. It’s the blind leading the blind and another example of Republicans never blowing an opportunity to blow an opportunity.
* As noted in the last Muth’s Truths PLUS, three Republicans in the Assembly at the time in 2016 (Ira Hansen, Robin Titus & Shelly Shelton) voted AGAINST building Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, home to the super-successful Super Bowl LVIII.
* But several conservative Republicans voted with conservative Assemblywoman Jill Dickman to approve it. They include Jim Wheeler (conservative), John Ellison (conservative), Michele Fiore (conservative), John Moore (conservative), Victoria Seaman (conservative), and Vicky Dooling (conservative).
* This vote was anything but a litmus test for conservatives. Conservatives were both for and against it.
* Pssst. Don’t tell Sigal Chattah, but I’ve been asked to MC the Nye County Republican Party’s Lincoln Day dinner on Friday, February 23rd in Pahrump where Gov. Lombardo will be the keynote speaker.
* If I do a good job, maybe he’ll give me another dollar!
