* Just a head’s up: The membership program we were using for sending out Muth’s Truths PLUS+ caused more problems than it solved. So I’m going back to what’s always worked in the past…Mail Chimp.
* This is the first MTP+ using the new Mail Chimp list. If you have any problems, shoot an email to me: chuck@chuckmuth.com.
* If you haven’t picked up Newt Gingrich’s new book, “March to the Majority” – detailing how he led Republicans out of the political wilderness and into the House majority in 1994 - get thee to a book store.
* Great read…and provides the blueprint Republicans in the Nevada State Assembly need to follow if they ever hope to get out of their minority status again.
* In fact, this morning I ordered a copy of the book and had it shipped to all 14 members of the Assembly GOP caucus. But even better…
* Newt and I exchanged some emails yesterday, and he’s agreed to do a one-hour Zoom call that I’ll host with the caucus members to answer questions and provide advice once they’ve received and read the book.
* The March to the Majority in Nevada is…ON!
* Nevada GOP National Committeewoman Sigal Chattah is at it again…
* The Chattah Box sent an email out this morning to the Nevada GOP email list trying to defend the lawsuit she filed against Gov. Lombardo over the passage of an election worker safety bill (SB406) that EVERY Republican legislator voted for.
* In her convoluted, barely decipherable missive, Chattah wrote that “SB406 was a bill opposed by the NVGOP during the session.”
* Nice try. I already checked the archives. There’s no letter of opposition or verbal testimony against the bill by Chattah or the Nevada GOP while the bill was being heard.
* This is Chattah trying to rewrite history and cover her butt for going after Lombardo and EVERY Republican member of the Legislature now that she hopes to get a payday for filing the suit.
* She also tried to pretend that she’s a big supporter of Gov. Lombardo, writing…
“I wholeheartedly supported Joe Lombardo during his campaign, I support him now as Governor, and it's a privilege to be a part of the NVGOP team that elected him.”
* Again, trying to rewrite history. The Chattah Box has regularly torched Lombardo, including this beaut on Twitter over a bill the governor signed that the Mouth That Bored disagreed with…
“I was joking that #NVDems must be microdosing him - unfortunately Nevada’s ‘GOP’ Governor (Lombardo) is becoming a laughingstock across the nation.”
* If that’s what the Chattah Box considers “support,” PLEASE stop supporting him!
* In other news, former Washoe County Commissioner Marsha Berkbigler is reportedly suiting up for a rematch for her old seat against Democrat incumbent Commissioner Alexis Hill.
* I can’t remember whether Marsha was a former Nevada GOP vice chair or national committeewoman. But she brought a level of dignity, professionalism, and respectability to the job that’s sorely lacking today from the Chattah Box.
* Wrapping up with some thoughts on the Ron v. Don race…
* I was a staunch Trump supporter in 2016 and 2020. But I want to win back the White House and I’m unconvinced that Trump can do it. So I’m a definite “undecided” in the GOP prez contest at this point.
* Seven long months to go.
* But I gotta say, I’m really put off by the juvenile attacks he launches on conservatives who are no longer pledging unquestioned fealty and undying loyalty to his candidacy.
* And more so by the bile and vitriol being spewed by some of his ongoing supporters against conservatives who are supporting other candidates in the primary.
* For those who claim Trump has this in the bag and the Republican nomination is a “done deal,” let me ask you this…
* If you believe no one can beat Trump in the GOP primary – and you might be right – why trash conservative Republican supporters who currently are backing a different Republican candidate in the primary?
* After all, you’re gonna need them in the general election, right?
