Muth's Truths Plus

02/13/2023

* But as Inner Circle members, I wanted you to be the first to know that the new project website is now “live.” I’ll be announcing it to the public later this week. The website address is: https://pigpenproject.com

* If this is an issue of interest you, I encourage you to subscribe to the project’s e-newsletter. Once I finish detailing the project to my master Muth’s Truth’s list this week, I’ll only be sending regular e-mails about the Pigpen Project to folks on the Pigpen Project email list.

* While you’re there, please test out links and things and let me know if you find anything that isn’t working correctly so we can fix them before going public. And if you’d like to make a donation for this critically important project while there, that would be greatly appreciated.

* The Ron vs. Don prez race is heating up just as the contest starts to get more crowded with former SC Gov. Nikki Haley expected to throw her hat into the ring in the coming days.

* The DeSantis camp argues that the Florida governor is as conservative and tough as Trump but without the baggage, making him more electable. That’s a powerful enticement for Republicans who are tired of losing after the last three election cycles.

* The Trump camp argues that while DeSantis is an attractive candidate, he hasn’t been tested on the national and international stage the way Trump has. They point to highly-touted former GOP guvs who sought the brass ring only to go down in flames after the press turned up the heat.

* That includes Scott Walker, Rick Perry and, of course, Mitt Romney.

* Personally, whether it’s Trump, DeSantis, Haley, or one of other major contenders expected to get into the race, I’ll be voting for them over Joe Biden’s re-election any day ending in “y.”

* I had a great conversation over the weekend with Kamau Bakari, an old friend and solid conservative who happens to be black. And the use of the term “colored” came up.

* Some may recall back in 2015 when then-GOP Assemblywoman Michele Fiore was raked over the coals for referring to her black Democrat colleague, Assemblyman Harvey Mumford, as a “colored man.”

* Kyle Roerink of the Las Vegas Sun reported at the time that Mumford “thinks Michele Fiore misspoke about calling him a colored man” and “meant to call him a man of color."

* But Kamau’s having none of it, and says white people need to stop constantly being on the defensive when accused of “racism” over what race hustlers and the “woke” crowd consider to be politically incorrect speech.

* And he raises a very valid point…

* Why is it considered a no-no to refer to a black person as a “colored person” – rather than a “person of color” - when the country’s oldest and best known black organization is named the “National Association for the Advancement of Colored People” (NAACP)?

* Hmmmm.

* I’ve heard that veteran talk-show host Dan Mason of KOH in Reno is retiring. His big shoes will reportedly be filled by our friend and longtime fill-in hostess with the mostest, Samantha Stone. Break a leg, Sam!

* SAVE THE DATE: We’ll be hosting a spring “Death & Taxes” fundraising dinner at the Italian-American Club on Saturday night, April 15. Details to come. Just waiting on confirmation of our VIP speaker/guest-of-honor. But go ahead and pencil it in on your calendar in the meantime.
