Muth's Truths PLUS+

* If you’re not following @SteveInmanUIC on Twitter, you’re missing some of the funniest stuff you’ll ever see – and definitely from a conservative standpoint.

* If you pull him up, do yourself a favor and scroll through all his previous posts. You’ll blow coffee through your nose!

* The Nevada GOP continues to deny the undeniable; that they’re in the bag for Donald Trump and are tilting the scales on his behalf with their brain-dead plan to hold a presidential “caucus” two days after the official presidential primary in February.

* Presidential candidate Larry Elder attended the September meeting of the GOP Central Committee where the fuster-cluck was officially approved, writing on Instagram: “Thank you to the @nevada_gop for inviting me to address their fall meeting in Winnemucca.”

* At the time, Nevada GOP Chairman Michael McDonald told the media “that presidential candidate Larry Elder and former President Donald Trump have indicated they will be filing to participate in the caucus.”

* Elder never filed. And on Thursday announced he was ending his campaign, adding: “Now that I am exiting the race, I am proud to announce my endorsement of Donald Trump for President of the United States.”

* Nah. There’s no conspiracy to rig the caucus for Trump in Nevada, is there?

* Republican State Sen. Scott Hammond – termed out for this election cycle – has resigned his seat. This is a critical seat for the GOP to hold, as they’re only one seat away from ending up in a super-minority.

* If Gov. Lombardo calls a special session between now and next November, the 7 Democrats on the Clark County Commission would appoint another Republican to replace him.

* Word on the street is that Hammond resigned immediately rather than simply announce he wasn’t running for re-election because he’s in line for a position in the Lombardo administration.

* Due to his legislative work on school choice initiatives, speculation is that he’s headed over to the Department of Education. I’ve also heard he might be in line for an executive job with the Oakland A’s as they prepare to move to Vegas.

* Dave Flippo is running in the 4th Congressional District. He lost in the GOP primary last year for a comparatively small Assembly seat.

* In his fundraising pitch, he states that the seat is winnable because “In 2014, NV-04 was flipped largely because National groups like Crossroads GPS invested heavily.”

* Not true. Republicans won that seat that year in what was a REAL “red wave.” That was the same election cycle where the Democrats’ gubernatorial nominee lost to “None of the Above” in the primary!

* Flippo’s a nice enough guy, but former North Las Vegas Mayor John Lee is the horse the GOP should ride next year for this seat. Flippo doesn’t have a credible path to victory in either the primary or the general and should find another office to run for.

FAMOUS LAST WORDS

“Rep. Jamaal Bowman’s personal act of insurrection (when he pulled the fire alarm inside the Capitol to prevent a House floor vote) will go largely unpunished. He pled guilty yesterday to pulling a false fire alarm and will pay a $1,000 fine and serve no jail time.

“This sweetheart deal is outrageous on many fronts – especially given that we now have video evidence that he lied through his teeth when he told police that he thought the fire alarm was a door-opening device. The video clearly shows him removing the emergency signs, pulling the alarm, and walking away with no attempt to open the door.

“If a Jan. 6th protester were caught on tape doing this, he likely would have been thrown in jail for five years. More evidence that we have a corrupt justice system in America.”
