Muth's Truths Plus

12/23/2022

* As noted in last MTP, Nevada Republican National Committeewoman Michele Fiore has resigned from her party position after being appointed Justice of the Peace in Nye County.

* Former GOP candidate for attorney general, Sigal Chattah, surely at the behest of Fiore, immediately announced her candidacy for the now-vacant position.

* Although I haven’t seen it anywhere publicly, word on the street is that Chattah would vote for California National Committeewoman Harmeet Dhillon in the scheduled January 27 election against incumbent RNC chair Ronna McDaniel.

* It is being said that Chattah doesn’t believe the RNC, under McDaniel, did enough to help her in her race against Democrat AG A.Ron Ford in the 2022 general election.

* All of which might be irrelevant amidst reports that Chattah may not even be eligible to run. Per the current Nevada GOP bylaws (Article 7.2: Vacancies)…

“Should a vacancy occur in any elected officer position other than Chairman...nominees must be current voting members of the NRCC to qualify.”

* And from what I’m hearing, Chattah is not a member of the NRCC. If so, it’s gonna be interesting to see how the Nevada GOP’s Bylaws Brigade bends and twists the
rules to make her eligible.

* As also noted in the last MTP, prominent grassroots activist Pauline Lee announced her candidacy for the vacant RNC seat last night, as well, writing…

“In the most recent election cycle, I raised significant funds for Republican candidates and walked over 1500 residences to help make a difference in Nevada. My extensive history and experience in leadership positions and fundraising will be a boost to the Republican Party.”

*The election will be held at the NV GOP meeting currently scheduled for January 14 in Ely.

* That, by the way, is also a bone of contention. While the meeting was already previously scheduled, it’ll come the day after Gov.-elect Joe Lombardo’s inaugural ball in Reno. And that’s gonna make it very difficult for a number of Central Committee members to attend both.

* The drive-time between Reno and Ely isabout 5 ½ hours…*IF* there’s no weather problems with snow.

* While Fiore signed onto a letter publicly supporting McDaniel for reelection as RNC chair, I’m hearing she, as well as Sigal, is not happy with the level of RNC support for her own
unsuccessful run for State Treasurer this year.

* It’s believed that had she remained as National Committeewoman, she would have sided with Dhillon.

* There are also rumblings that Nevada Republican Party Chairman Mike McDonald and Republican National Committeeman Jim DeGraffenreid – both of whom also signed onto the early McDaniel endorsement letter – are similarly disenchanted with McDaniel’s leadership and
may vote for Dhillon.

* The ballots in the RNC chair’s race are secret ballots. So even if a member voices support publicly for one or the other candidates, that doesn’t mean that’s how they’ll actually vote.

* A closing note on McDonald…

* At a well-publicized dog-and-pony show in front of the Secretary of State’s office in early 2021, McDonald dropped off four big boxes of what he claimed included 120,000+ pieces of “evidence” of election fraud in the 2020 general election in Nevada.

* However, McDonald has never shared that evidence with the public so we all can make our own independent determination as to whether the “evidence” was real or fake.

* In a radio interview a couple weeks ago, McDonald claimed he was barred from releasing his “evidence” to the public by a court order. Not surprisingly, despite numerous requests for him to produce the alleged order, he’s refused to do so.

* He’s hiding something. I’m guessing his unsubstantiated voting fraud claims were all bark and no bite and he’d end up with egg on his face if those files ever saw the light of day in public.

* Why does this matter? Because thousands of Nevada Republicans, believing McDonald’s inflated, if not bogus, claims, decided to sit out the 2022 elections because they didn’t believe their votes would count.

* Brilliant political strategery there, Mr. Chairman.

FAMOUS LAST WORDS

“So far, Donald Trump is having the worst campaign launch since Beto O’Rourke. … In
short, it’s hard to imagine how Trump could have had a worse monthlong run. …
It’s still early and premature to count Trump out. If Trump is going to win the
nomination, though, it will involve recovering from his disastrous announcement
and aftermath.” – Columnist Rich Lowry
