* To celebrate April Fool’s Day, the Babylon Bee reports that CNN has published a real news story.
* Today also marks the one-year anniversary of Bud Light making trans activists Dylan Mulvaney their brand ambassador. Bud Light has lost $1.4 billion since. Go woke, go broke.
* On yesterday’s Transgender Day of Visibility, a trans person burned down a 117-year-old church in Portland, Oregon – on EASTER SUNDAY.
* Meanwhile, global warming radicals stormed the altar yesterday at St. Patrick’s Cathedral shouting “Silence is Death!” and “Free Palestine!” They were summarily marched out of the church by congregants. People have had enough of this crud.
* Be careful what you ask for. Collin Rugg is reporting that the sanctuary city of Denver is now openly begging illegal aliens to leave and “go to other cities like New York and Chicago.” The illegals are declining. Go figure.
* Remember a week or so ago when a mob of illegal aliens stormed the border and rioted against Texas National Guard members? Yeah, well, Judge Humberto Acosta has released them from jail.
* Yes, we are a nation of immigrants. But more importantly, we are a nation of laws. Judge Acosta seems to have forgotten that.
* Just throwing this “land, sea, air” observation out there…
* Under President Joe Biden and his Transportation Secretary, Pete Buttigieg, we’ve had the toxic train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio, a door flying off a Boeing airplane in mid-air, and a cargo tanker completely collapsing the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore.
* Sure glad “the adults are back in charge.”
* The Law of Unintended Consequences per USA Today…
“Fast food workers are losing their jobs in California as new minimum wage law takes effect. Among the chains announcing cuts ahead of a $4 increase to the minimum wage in California are Pizza Hut and Round Table Pizza. The state's minimum wage will rise to $20 on April 1.”
* Observes Steve Moore of the Committee to Unleash Prosperity: “It’s not just starter jobs that will be lost. Food will cost even more. With this inflated minimum wage the ‘dollar menu’ is going to turn into the $10 menu.”
* Nevada’s U.S. Senate race: The fat lady isn’t singing yet, but she’s clearing her pipes. At this point, it appears to be Sam Brown’s race to lose in the primary.
* The wild card is Dr. Jeff Gunter *IF* he self-funds to a significant amount and can land Donald Trump’s endorsement. Possible. Remember what Yogi Berra said: “It ain’t over ‘til it’s over.”
* The other candidates, such as Stephanie Phillips, should have looked for another seat to run for, especially legislative seats. Lord knows we need help in Carson City.
* Steve Sebelius reports that the City of Las Vegas is in talks to buy the Grant Sawyer state office building which has “faced complaints of unregulated temperatures, leaking sewage, pigeon droppings on the roof and flooding."
* Yep, sounds like a government building to me.
* Robert Beadles is a controversial conservative activist in Washoe County. Some equate his methods to using a sledgehammer to kill a gnat. But the man puts his own money where his mouth is – unlike the government which uses YOUR money.
* Forcing change in entrenched government is neither easy nor pretty. So how, Beadles says he is often asked, do we do it? Here’s a partial answer from his newsletter today…
“To start, we start locally. We know that if we can clean up our county, we could then clean up our state, then our federal government… We start with our elections, as that’s our only peaceful way to effect change in our county. … Get involved, stop complaining from the armchair, stop being apathetic and saying it’s too late or it’s all over, and instead start showing up. Go door to door, walk for candidates, and tell people what’s happening…”
* He's not wrong.
* Jill Douglass is Madame President for the Battle Born Republican Women. She’s a conservative GOP activist who takes the word “active” literally. No one will ever accuse her of “complaining from an armchair.” To her, “apathy” is a four-letter word.
* Jill has also filed to run against Democrat Senate Majority Leader Nicole Cannibizarro (Senate District 6 in Clark County). And she’s hosting a campaign kickoff event on Wednesday, April 10 from 4:30 – 7:00 pm at The Summit at Sun City, located at 2215 Thomas W. Ryan Blvd.
* A big turnout would be great. Jill’s earned and deserves it. RSVP so she can get a head count for food. Email: jill@jilldouglass.com. Or phone: (702) 497-3352.
FAMOUS LAST WORDS
“Establishment Democrats tell everyone who will listen that (Robert F.) Kennedy and (Nicole) Shanahan are ‘spoilers’ – that their candidacy inevitably will throw support away from President Joe Biden and help former President Donald Trump. If so, that’s what the party gets for pushing the most entrenched but least enticing Democrat in the game. Shame on big-name Democrats who should have challenged Biden but chose not to.” – Las Vegas Review-Journal columnist Debra Saunders
