* ANNOUNCEMENT: You’re the first to hear…

* Yesterday, former Assemblywoman Annie Black – also a former client of mine when she ran for the Assembly in 2020 – has joined the Citizen Outreach Foundation team!

* This despite the fact that she threatened to “shoot” me at our murder/mystery dinner last month in a fit of jealousy over my presumed support for a candidate (played by an actor) in CD4. A good time was had by all.

* Are you ready for her title? Director of Getting Sh*t Done.

* She’ll be in charge of managing, well, pretty much everything, especially our fundraising efforts and the Pigpen Project. Welcome aboard, Annie!

* Donald Trump entered the lion’s den last night and not only survived, but thrived.

* He went on CNN to participate in an hour-long town hall forum moderated by Kaitlyn Collins. She was rude, argumentative, and dripping with liberal media bias. Par for the course at the Fake News Network.

* In the post-forum “analysis” by CNN’s talking heads, they all whinnied about Trump “obsessing” over the 2020 election. But, but, but…it was COLLINS who brought it up as her very first question.

* It’s the MEDIA that’s obsessed with the 2020 election.

* Trump said he was focusing on 2024 and taking steps to prevent another 2020 disaster. You can bet he’s learned from his experience.

* And as usual, despite the open hostility, Trump chewed Collins up. She was an embarrassment, and wonderfully exposed the Trump-hate on the left.

* To win the presidency in 2024, Trump will first have to dispatch Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and a field of lesser contenders. Last night’s performance certainly moved him closer to that goal. I’m guessing his poll numbers will again shoot up.

* We all know Biden could never withstand an hour-long onslaught like what Trump faced. But the real question for Republican primary voters is: Could DeSantis?

* Las Vegas Review-Journal columnist Victor Joecks continued his chirping at Republican Gov. Joe Lombardo yesterday with a column declaring that Lombardo “needs to learn from LeBron James.”

* You mean how to sell out to the communist Chinese?

* What’s got Victor’s tights in a twist is Lombardo not revealing his hand with regard to his veto pen to the Democrats before crunch time in the final days of the session next month.

* But why would he do that? Why tip his hand early? As Donald Trump once said, "I don’t want to broadcast to the enemy exactly what my plan is."

* Exactly.

* Look, Lombardo didn’t just fall off a turnip truck last night. This isn’t his first rodeo. While new to Carson City, he’s had eight years dealing with hostile political opponents while sheriff of Clark County before being elected governor.

* Victor is a solid conservative policy guy. But he hasn’t had any experience in the political realm, or even in the deal-making business arena.

* I have more faith in the abilities of the only Republican in the country to unseat a sitting incumbent Democrat governor last year rather than the theoretical “strategery” of an inexperienced policy guy/columnist.

* Republican Jim Marchant - who has no chance to win the U.S. Senate seat in Nevada next year - has endorsed Republican Elizabeth Halseth-Helgelein - who has no chance of winning the 3rd congressional district seat next year – over fellow Republican Drew Johnson.

* Oy vey.

* Not coincidentally, both candidates are being managed by the same consulting firm; the highly controversial McShane LLC.

* But keep your powder dry. It’s still early. And I’ve heard rumors that a current elected Republican with demonstrated fundraising success may be mulling a run for this seat, as well.

* Another self-inflicted wound for the Nevada GOP after a judge dismissed an effort by the party’s executive director to kill a lawsuit over her post-election remarks last year in which she attacked a number of Republicans for their support of Democrat incumbent Attorney General A.Ron Ford.

* Alida Benson alleged, without proof, in a public meeting of the Clark County GOP that former Nevada Republican Party Chairwoman Amy Tarkanian and others were “personally profiting” from their endorsement of Ford.

* Making accusations without substantiation seems to be standard operating procedure for the party. It did the same thing in alleging voting fraud following the 2020 general election.

* A 62-year-old man was arrested last week for what would be his 10th conviction for DUI if found guilty. The LVRJ notes the man “was previously convicted in 1999, 2001, twice in 2004, three times in 2009, and twice in 2012.”

* A 39-year-old man was arrested in Las Vegas last week for shooting and killing a woman. LVRJ notes the man with gang ties had been indicted previously for "arson, five attempted murders, five killings and sex trafficking of a minor."

* Caught and released.

* Since that time, he also “pleaded guilty to assault with a deadly weapon” and “conspiracy to own a firearm," as well as probation violations. Yet was still on the street to murder a woman.

* The cops are doing their jobs. They’re arresting the bad guys. But the DA and liberal judges keep letting them out.
